The GOLD Society recognizes young alumni leadership donors. For alumni who graduated between 2012-2016, a gift of $100 annually qualifies. Alumni who graduated between 2007-2011, a gift of $250 annually qualifies. Our more seasoned alumni who graduated between 2002-2006 years, are invited to make a gift of $500 annually to the College. GOLD Society donors are celebrated for their commitment to the College’s philanthropic priorities and are welcomed at an annual reception and various networking events throughout the year. Your annual contribution can be divided into monthly installments.

Taking its name from the year that the College of Charleston was founded, the 1770 Society recognizes alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, friends, corporations and foundations that make the College a philanthropic priority by giving $1,000 or more annually. Gifts at the 1770 Society level impact every corner of campus, including athletics; scholarships; leadership-based student programming; research initiatives; and groundbreaking technology in the arts and sciences.

The Live Oak Society recognizes the College’s most loyal donors who give to any area of the College for five consecutive years or more. Taking its name from the majestic live oak trees that have enduringly and gracefully ornamented the campus since its founding, the society recognizes donors who provide loyal and continuing support. These are the donors who provide the broad base of support that we rely on to help advance our mission and ensure the College’s well-being for future generations.

Estate gifts are among the highest complements that donors can pay to organizations that they care about. The College of Charleston is honored to be included in the personal legacies of its supporters. The Cistern Society honors those alumni, faculty and friends who preserve the College of Charleston tradition for generations to come through an estate gift. Planned gifts leave a legacy that allows future students to experience the joy of an unparalleled education in the liberal arts and sciences. The name was chosen because the Cistern, at the center of the campus, has served as the heart of the College for generations.
